10 Dreamy Places to Hang your Hammock
When it’s cold outside and I’m stuck at work, nothing makes me happier than thinking about flying off to an exotic location. Is there anything more wonderful and relaxing than laying down in a breezy hammock, refreshment in hand, while enjoying breathtaking scenery? I think not. Lets take a journey to my top 10 dreamy places to hang your hammock.
1. Andaman Coast - Phuket, Thailand
When I think of paradise, I imagine the blue water and lush haystack rocks off the coast of Thailand. Secluded white sand beach with endless views of the Andaman Sea extending in all directions. Beauty and relaxation at it’s finest!
2. Kauai, Hawaii Islands
It delights me to think about hanging my hammock anywhere along the 50-miles of heavenly beaches from Poipu Beach to Hanalei Bay in Kauai. Wouldn’t it be lovely to smell the sea air while enjoying the soaring cliffs of the Napali Coast? Kauai seems to embrace the senses like no other destination. Hand me a coconut drink!
3. Fiji - South Pacific
When I think of Fiji, I think of hanging my hammock on some beautiful palm trees on white sand beaches, near dramatic lush, green, tropical jungle clad hills. Of course I might have to take a break from my hammock for some soft coral diving and an eco-tour…. then straight back to relaxing on the beach.
4. Pumpkin Island, Australia
I think it would be fabulous to hang my hammock on one of Australia's hidden gems and best-kept island secrets... Pumpkin Island is nestled in the Keppel Islands, off the coast of Yeppoon. This spot on the beach would be a blissful escape and a chance to partake in pristine nature. I might even see dolphins, turtles and whales!
5. The Maldives
I’ve always dreamed of hanging my hammock on one of the perfect 1200 islands of the Maldives. Pristine white powder sand beaches and luminous cyan-blue water like nowhere else on earth. You can count me in on this Indian Ocean paradise!
6. Santorini, Greece
I’ve had a lifelong dream of hanging my hammock on the patio of one of those perfect, white cave houses perched on the Caldera cliffs of Santorini Greece. Breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and fabulous architecture would make me feel like I was in a postcard.
7. Corsica, France
I adore France and would absolutely love to hang my hammock on a small yacht off the coast of Corsica. I think it would be an incredible adventure and so beautiful. I could easily spend my day swinging in a hammock while enjoying the beautiful, Mediterranean sea. Circling the stunning coastline of Corsica would be a magical experience.
8. Santa Lucia Beach, Cuba
My next dreamy hammock hanging spot is on the beautiful Santa Lucia beach in Cuba. With 21-kilometres of dazzling white sand to choose from, it seems like the ideal place for relaxation. I’m sure the green hills and an amazingly preserved ecosystem can only enhance the experience.
- The Virgin Islands
The island of St John seems like another perfectly dreamy place to hang my hammock. It is known for being the greenest of the Virgin Islands. I’d swing the day away while enjoying it’s gorgeous parkland and sublime beaches. Of course I could break up all this relaxing with a hike or snorkeling in the crystal blue waters.
10. South Africa
Last but not least, I’d love to hang my hammock on a dreamy South African beach. Anywhere along the pristine coastal stretch of Cape Vidal in KwaZulu-Natal to the Eastern Cape's famous Wild Coast will do! Who knows, I might even spot a penguin colony!
